Who love's Home Improvement? Meee. After nearly 5 years out of the game, I have teamed up with my incredibly talented, designer-savvy, sister-in-law, Stephanie Davidson to rehab a home we have named "The Cottage".
It is a 1949 cottage style home with about 848 square feet upstairs (2 bed 1 bath) and a partial 450 sq foot basement with somewhat of a bedroom/cellar. It needs some work, but it has potential. We have budgeted about $17,000.

The outside needs a serious make-over. The siding is aluminum and in descent shape.
The living room just needs a facelift-good wood flooring
This bedroom feels like a trailer home so with some creative painting, it will transform to a cottage feel.
The kitchen needs the most work. The appliances don't seem like they belong and the faux brick is just terrible.
This is the original furnace and is the elephant in the room, literally, the space is completely occupied by its presence.
The basement, or...more like the dungeon.
Here is another view of the kitchen looking North. As you can see, the appliances are not a integral part of the home, and..is that the dryer? In the Kitchen? Yes, it is.
